Anna Kournikova and Alla Kournikova, A Happier Famous Family Moment

Famous family in trouble? Never happens! Alla Kournikova, mother of the pro tennis star Anna Kournikova, was taken away and arrested this past Tuesday, January 19, 2010, for alleged charges of child neglect.

Reportedly, Alla Kournikova left her 5-year-old son, Allen, by himself at home in the families $2 million Palm Beach residence. The length of absence was some 50 minutes while the pro tennis mom ran some errands at the bank and post office.

Doesn’t seem unreasonable to us, as long as the boy stayed in a safe location…

So how did the cops know? A neighbor called to say that the little boy was reportedly “soaking wet and walking in front of his house, acting very upset.”

Somehow little Allen escaped the compound and instead of helping the little kid out, the neighbors called the cops… $2 million can buy you a house, but not a nice neighborhood. But sometimes it’s best not to get involved, and besides, with all that money, you’d think that Alla Kournikova can get a little help around the house, and with her chores?

The neighborly caller also said that the kid “had jumped out of a window.”

When police officers arrived at the Kournikova home, Allen had said that after he “jumped out of the second story window” he went into the family swimming pool because his “feet hurt.”

The police surveyed the home, situated in the middle of Palm Beach, and figured out that the second-story roof was about 15 feet high. Little Allen landed on some white stone and between some air conditioning units.

“I hung by my hands before letting go,” Allen reported to the police. The escapee then walked through a black fence and went into the pool. Reportedly, his feet hurt because he was barefoot when falling onto the stones, poor guy!

After all of this, the Palm Beach Fire Rescue came and examined Allen. Allen had bruising on his feet and lower back and was admitted to a local hospital while police attempted to reach Alla Kournikova, 46, through a cell-phone number obtained in a search.

When Alla Kournikova had finally returned to her house, she was asked to go to the police station where she told the officers that her son was “awake and sitting on the couch watching television at the time she left her home.” Alla, who is raising the boy alone, said she dead-bolted the house and gave Allen a cell phone to use while she was gone. He didn’t accompany her on her errands because he said he “did not want to go.”

Alla Kournikova was released from jail for a 3rd degree felony at $3000 bail. Moral of the story, find a babysitter! It is cheaper than bail! And especially if you’re a celebrity mom! No comment yet from Anna Kournikova.
