Julie Bowen: Offensive Breastfeeding Picture?

The world’s too uptight!

Julie Bowen Breastfeeding

Offensive picture of breastfeeding?! Modern Family mom, Julie Bowen, recently posted a picture of her breastfeeding her two boys at the same time.  Julie was on George Lopez’s show when she shared all about nursing her one-year-old twin boys, John and Gus. She claims that the breastfeeding really helped her slim down her post-pregnancy body. The 40-year-old actress shared this hilarious description:

“It’s like two little liposuction machines on you,t hey suck the fat out of you. They call it the ‘double football hold.’ You hold one here, and here [gesturing to her breasts], like two footballs… They’re doing God’s work right there, helping me return to my birth weight.”

Julie admitted to George that working seems like a vacation, because being with the boys is so much work:

“Working is so much easier,” than being at home. Home is a constant onslaught of tiny genitalia and poop.”

Julie Bowen said to George, “I had the picture and I hope you are brave enough to show it. It’s the end of my career.” When Julie had a guest appearance for The View, she wasn’t allowed to show the pic on T.V. However she did talk on the subject of breastpumping while driving. (Haha)  Many people have been offended by the photo of Julie breastfeeding, which is why The View opted not to view it (no pun intended) on television.

Julie also as another son, 5-year-old Oliver and no, he’s not breast feeding too.

Its alright to breastfeed but it is a personal thing and she should go some place where it is quiet and no one is there taking pictures. She should also cover herself wit h a blanket. I know they don’t today. They are not a bit personable caring that everyone walking down the mall watches. Every mall , restautant, church, any place where there is alot of people should have a private room for them and inside they go there. I don’t want to see some woman or girl with her shirt pulled up and a baby hanging on. Go to the private room.

Well thanks Linda for letting everyone know it’s alright to breastfeed!
God put those breasts there for babies to suck on. I see nothing wrong with a women with her shirt pulled up and a baby hanging on. It’s eating, not sex for gosh sakes. If people could lighten up a bit I think this country would be a lot less stressful. Oh, by the way, feeding your baby formula could be dangerous. A bunch of babies in China died from formula–I haven’t heard of any babies dieing from breast milk. Mommy Miracle Power.
    You go Julie Bowen!

Awww! This pic is so sweet!!! Look at those two little suckers getting all that nourishment and precious snuggle time with Mommy.

Here’s a thought… if this pic were Julie Bowen in a really low-cut dress that showed off her breasts that way, no one would bat an eye. But if she’s feeding two hungry babies, she should cover with a blanket? How perverse is that???

I am disgusted that people would be offended by her breast feeding picture. She is feeding her children, why should that have to be done in private? It’s the most natural act a mother can do for her child, yet as Americans we have developed this weird stigma on breastfeeding. Not every place has a private room. Do you go and hide when you are eating, maybe you should go and sit in a bathroom when you are eating your lunch? More power to her… thank you Julie Bowen for showing people that even stars do what’s natural… feed their children the way God intended!

Out of curiosity…what quiet place should she go to ? The bathroom seems to be a popular answer. To which I respond, tweet a picture of you eating in the bathroom in a public store, restaurant, ect…..and then we can talk. If it bothers you…DON’T LOOK!

I got kicked out of a DISNEY ride area 24 years ago… the guard asked me NOT to breastfeed my baby in the secluded area I sat in while the rest of my family went inside for a show.. I also covered the baby’s head with a blanket.. the guard SUGGESTED that I feed my baby IN THE ADJACENT TOILET!! How disgusting! I asked him if he ate his lunch in the bathroom…

I should have sued, but back then, I didnt think of it…I just told the guard that I would be finished in 10 minutes and if he didnt like it….he should call the POLICE!!

my wife nursed all eight of our children–two surgeons, two with advanced degrees, two in college and two still in high school. whether nurturing kids, bringing someone pleasure or filling out sweaters, breasts are remarkable things. yet americans are traumatized by them.

Such puritans. How can people be so cynical?
Being overly conservative is such an ugly trait. And that capacity to take a picture such as this out of context and instantly give it a sexual significate… I mean, come on? All you guys did it. Everyone did it. Can there be anything more normal than this?
It’s funny how the ones who claim to be (and act as) conservatives and righteous are the ones with the most perverse minds.

Why would it be strange for her sons when they grow up? They are babies, it is breastfeeding, it is the most natural of all things.
